Over in the States, the wi-fi version of the iPad is set for release this weekend, although customers who haven't already pre-ordered won't be getting the device that soon. It seems that Apple has now run out of stock for the initial launch, meaning that those ordering this week may not have their iPad shipped until April 12th. The option to pick up an iPad in-store has also been removed. This indicates pretty strong demand for the device, which runs contrary to some of the slightly lukewarm consumer reaction surveys we've seen of late. The Guardian reports that the estimated number of pre-ordered iPads is 130,000. An exact UK release date and price are still yet to be confirmed for the iPad, although the former should be late April sometime. Apple iPad sells out on US pre-orders
